Nuclear Physicist-Lecturer Stanton T. Friedman

by Brent on Feb.07, 2010, under Updates

sfriedmanLast week I met long time Helix fan James Friedman at our gig in London. He told his father was Nuclear Physicist Stanton Friedman. I freaked! I’d seen Jason’s dad speak on Youtube everywhere, and Jason asked me to call his dad about what I saw in the sky. We spoke for about 20 minutes, and it was a pleasure and honor to speak with him. He is quite pleaseant and interesting to talk to.

Here’s a little about Stanton:

Nuclear Physicist-Lecturer Stanton T. Friedman received his BSc. and MSc. Degrees in physics from the University of Chicago in 1955 and 1956. He was employed for 14 years as a nuclear physicist by such companies as GE, GM, Westinghouse, TRW Systems, Aerojet General Nucleonics, and McDonnell Douglas working in such highly advanced, classified, eventually cancelled programs as nuclear aircraft, fission and fusion rockets, and various compact nuclear powerplants for space and terrestrial applications.

It was a high light in my life, after all - how many people actually know or ever call a Nuclear Physicist even once in a life time?? Keep rockin’ James!!

Fan Mail Thank you very much for taking the time to chat and sign the CD and LP’s. For many years I have often said that “I sold my soul for rock ‘n’ roll”. Being around it in such a more intimate way as I was at Maxwell’s I could feel the nourishment it was providing for my soul. I was such a great feeling. Listening to your music has given me so much pleasure over the years. Mere words cannot express the gratitude I feel. I know that each project takes a lot of energy and effort to become “a baby” you can be proud of.

To Mike…I really enjoyed hearing some of the stories that you had to tell about your time with Helix.

I would like the opportunity to chat some more to all of you. I’m sure Brent and Brian likely have some interesting stories to tell of life in and around Erbsville. Take care and thanks again for an awesome evening. Talk soon. Sincerely, Brad Berger
